doing work they can do,” says Aline. “We always tell them that it is a lot better to do good work using a qualitative study than to do bad work using a quantitative study.” Of course, if you really do need to use a particular type of methodology for your graduate thesis or dissertation, then there are professional writers who can help you.
Save Time by Writing about What You Know and Love.
There is a good reason why you should write only about the things that matter to you: it will make research that much easier and you will probably already have a foundation of knowledge upon which to draw. But most of all, if you love the topic you write about, your productivity will go through the roof.
Have a Schedule!
Doing a thesis or dissertation is hard work; heck, people can devote years to them! Most students, of course, don’t have years – and the amount of work involved precludes thinking that you can squeeze in it all in at the end. Therefore, set goals for yourself: “I want to get A done by such-and-such a date and B done by such-and-such a date”. This way, you can ease up a little at the end and not have the stress a lot of people face when its crunch time and you’re only half-way through your paper.

Develop the Research Design First and Then Do the Literature Review and Everything Else Second.
You need to budget your time when you’re doing a big thesis, and you especially need to leave the most time for the hardest things. As a rule, the sooner you can devise the research design you will use, the better-off you will be; after all, all of your findings, your conclusions, how you approach the paper in general – will be determined by how you collect and analyze the data. One little hint that’s good for most students is to look at the research methodologies that have been used by earlier researchers writing on your topic. If they look good and have good internal reliability and validity, you might want to use their research design as a broad template for your own work. This way, you don’t have to – again – re-invent the wheel, and you don’t have to rack your brains out coming up with some novel research design when a pre-existing design might hold the key to everything. As Aline Russo tells her clients, “it’s about doing a good job – not about getting high marks for inventiveness and bad marks for everything else.”
Have A Professional Look Over Your Work
Proof-reading is one of the greatest things going – but it only works if it’s done right. What that means is that you should always have someone look over your work – and preferably it should be someone who already has his or her Masters or PhD in that subject – like a professor or field specialist. At least, you should get a professional writer or somebody with plenty of experience writing such papers to examine it for stylistic errors, omissions, grammar and syntax, and organization. It never hurts to have another pair of (professional) eyes look over your work.
